United States Backgammon League
- The United States Backgammon League is a project to see how much interest there is in playing over-the-board (meaning live, not online) backgammon without involving money. Tournaments are free, played for prizes and ratings, rather than paying entry fees and playing for prize money.

- BackGames.org (shareware) - a great Web site for tournament directors to track tournament results. Automatically calculates ratings for all players.

Money backgammon playing sites
These sites allow you to play others on the Internet for real money. The winner pays a small commission. But you can also play non-money games for free.
They both require you to download their software in order to play.
